The Mishneh Torah -The Book of Knowledge describes Man as the climax of creation – the ultimate combination of form and the force of life. This is an additional facet of the concept that Licht is trying to illustrate starting with geometric forms of letters cut out by laser borrowed from the Holy Bible. The empty spaces within, on the other hand, represent the form – knowledge- the shape of the cognitive and knowledgeable spirit that separates man from beast.
Licht’s works are characterized by a desire for a search of the concealed links between mystical concepts and signs from different sources. In this way she endeavors to incorporate another dimension, which in fact exists solely in our consciousness, almost within the boundaries of the corporeal world. Her creations should be viewed as objects for meditative introspection that are used as aids in connecting to one's higher consciousness, to man's inherent knowledge that is usually not accessed and used in our daily lives.
This is the knowledge of creation that Licht touches upon, the moment of coming into being in which the idea materializes and starts being fulfilled. These works reflect a journey in which she strives to find the secrets of the universe. Personal discoveries are projected onto it as reflections, as a direct result of the process.
